All About Tanzanite and Celebrities.

The past couple of years have seen celebrities flaunt Tanzanite Jewelry at high profile functions. This blog focuses on some of the most famous Tanzanites paraded by the "who's who" in the silver screen.

1. The Titanic
   

Anyone who has watched the 1997 classic move, The Titanic, definately remembers 'The Heart of the Ocean', which was a gemstone that was set to make an amazing pendant. One of the most unforgettable  scenes was where Jack (Leonardo Dicaprio) was asked by Rose (Kate Winslet) to make a painting of her while nude... apart from the necklace.

As much as The Heart of the Ocean was said to be a blue diamond in The Titanic, it was infact made of Tanzanite. Blue Diamonds do not contain a deep blue saturation in real sense. What many do not know was the stone was a 28 carat heartshaped Tanzanite!!

   2. Beyonce

After the birth of her daughter Blue Ivy Carter, Jay Z gave his wife Beyonce a spectacular $35,000 10+ carat cushion cut blue Tanzanite ring - a gift that was obviously inspired!

3. Anne Hathaway

Actress Anne Hathaway rocked a custom made satin dress with Tanzanite and diamond earrings during an Oscar Award Ceremony.

5) Wendi McLendon-Covey

ABC series The Goldbergs star Wendi McLendon stood out in a Blueberry Tanzanite  Necklace at the 17th Annual CCMAs. She had been nominated for Best Actress.

6) Sarah Jessica Parker

Sarah Jessica Parker, the doyenne of New York's social scene was recently spotted wearing a round Tanzanite and diamond pendant paired with a beautiful Tanzanite ring at the 2013 Tiffany and Co Blue Book collection. Tanzanite was actually named by Harry Platt, the president of Tiffany and Co in the late 1960’s. For the first ten years of mining, Tiffany’s had exclusive rights to Tanzanite and Sarah Jessica Parker looks very comfortable adorned in their latest creations.
